Aiming high

Pantech aims high with the Pantech Breakout. Not only is it Pantech's second Android phone, it's also equipped to take advantage of Verizon's speedy 4G LTE network.

Design and specs

While inoffensive to gaze upon, the Pantech Breakout is an average slug of black pebbled plastic with a pair of metal accents. It's got a totally decent 4-inch touch screen, a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, and a front-facing VGA camera.

Camera quality

Unfortunately, the front-facing camera took out-of-focus, grainy photos; the video camera produced jerky playback; and the main camera exhibited inconvenient shutter lag.
