NTT DoCoMo at Mobile World Congress (photos)

Japanese mobile provider NTT DoCoMo always has some of the most innovative and unique cell phones in the world. CNET stops by the company's booth at Mobile World Congress to take a look.

Bonnie Cha
Bonnie Cha was a former chief correspondent for CNET Crave, covering every kind of tech toy imaginable (with a special obsession for robots and Star Wars-related stuff). When she's not scoping out stories, you can find her checking out live music or surfing in the chilly waters of Northern California.

Can't believe our eyes

At Mobile World Congress 2010, NTT DoCoMo demoed a new headset that allows you to control your phone with eye movements. The eye-controlled user interface lets you move your eyes in various directions and the phone will then read them as different system commands. The headset sense movement by looking for tiny changes in electric charge; apparently, our corneas carry a positive charge. Who knew?

It was all pretty interesting stuff but frankly, I just felt bad for this guy who had to stand there moving his eyes up, down, left, and right for huge chunks of time.

SH-04B

This yummy pair of cell phones was designed by Japanese accessory maker Q-Pot to look like melting chocolate bars. You can pick from one of two flavors: Melty Bitter or Melty Strawberry. They are part of the company's Style Series where the phones are designed to be fashion accessories.

Seeing double

The F-04B actually unhinges to separate into two modules. You can continue to use both through a Bluetooth connection.

Touch Wood

This is one of two models in the DoCoMo Touch Wood series. The eco-friendly phones are manufactured by Sharp and are made with real cypress wood. The wood features compression technology by Olympus Corp., to make it resistant to water, insects, and mildew.
