Nokia Lumia 920 isn't messing around (pictures)

Nokia's Lumia 920 is thick, heavy, and packed with features. Here's a closer look at a phone that mean business.

Nokia Lumia 920, a.k.a The Incredible Hulk

The Nokia Lumia 920 is a beast of a smartphone, both physically and in terms of its specs. The Windows Phone 8 device features 4G LTE, a very fast dual-core processor, and an 8.7-megapixel camera.

Thick and heavy, but deliberate

If you're looking for a light phone, move on. The Lumia 920 tips the scale at 6.5 ounces and measures 0.4-inch thick all around. Its design, though hefty, is sculpted and well-conceived.

Colors

One of my favorite Windows Phone requirements is the camera shutter button on the spine. Globally, the device comes in white, black, yellow, red, and cyan. AT&T will get it exclusively in the U.S.

All about the finish

The white version has a glossy finish that makes it rather slippery, but some colors (cyan and black) will come matte. All variations retain the Lumia's carbonate unibody design, with no removable battery.

Lumia 900, meet Lumia 920

There are subtle design differences between the Lumia 900 and slightly taller and wider Lumia 920. Some ports have migrated around, and the body shape on the 920 has a rounder back.

Curve-hugger

You can really see the 920's curvature and port repositioning here.

Outhulking the HTC Windows Phone 8X

Although the HTC Windows Phone 8X is thick in the center, its tapered sides give the impression of slimness compared with the Lumia 920.

One final look

If Windows Phone 8 is your jam, the Lumia 920 for AT&T brings wireless charging, a powerful processor, and a high-powered camera into the mix -- but at the cost of lightness and portability.
