Nokia Lumia 830

The Lumia 830 is one of the last Windows phones with Nokia branding, before Microsoft finally retires the name from its hardware range.

It's the lowest-priced Lumia phone to pack in a PureView camera. This black phone is the model we had in for testing, rather than the overly bright green.

The Lumia 830 will ship with the latest Windows update, called Denim, offering some new features such as making folders on the home screen, as well as bringing Cortana in beta for the UK and public alpha for Australia.

At 8.5mm thick, the 830 feels solid without being overly heavy. The metal edge gives it a very nice premium look.

The headphone jack and charging port sit at the top, but the 830 is also set up for the Qi wireless charging standard.

The screen is 720p, but the IPS panel means it's still bright and very easy to read, even outdoors.

The 10-megapixel PureView camera has Zeiss optics and the Denim update will bring new features such as 4K video recording.

Green, orange, black and white -- Microsoft want to ensure you can make a 'statement', if you feel so inclined.

All up, the Lumia 830 is a great example of the Nokia legacy and a good indicator of what's next for Microsoft and the Lumia range.
