Nikon Coolpix P7800 and S02 cameras on show at IFA (pictures)
Nikon's freshly announced Coolpix P7800 enthusiast compact and S02 ultra-ultracompact were on show at IFA in Berlin. We went hands-on.
BERLIN -- The Nikon Coolpix S02 is so tiny it feels like a toy. It's just 3.1 inches wide by 2.1 inches high by 0.7 inch thick and weighs only 3.6 ounces. We went hands-on (or hands around, rather) at the IFA trade show.
The minuscule snapper crams in a 3x f3.3-5.9 30-90mm lens and a 13-megapixel CMOS sensor.
With little room for controls, the S02 relies on this 2.7-inch 230K-dot-resolution touch screen. The S02 is available in September for $180.
This is the Nikon Coolpix P7800, a compact digital camera aimed at enthusiast photographers.
The P7800 has a 3-inch RGBW screen that was bright and colourful in our very brief hands-on here at IFA. It can flip out for added flexibility.
This rather comically oversize flash is detachable. It makes the camera heavy to hold in one hand.
The P7800 can record Full HD 1080p video on its 12.2-megapixel sensor and f/2.0 lens. It'll be out later this month for $550.
