Bethesda has shown off some new images and more information about Dragonborn, the newest add-on for Skyrim.

So, you've built a house, become a vampire and have more crossbows than you know what to do with — what's next? Well, with the Dragonborn DLC, you'll actually bid farewell to Skyrim's sweet rolls and cider as you head off to the coastal regions of Morrowind, to the island of Solstheim.

Once you're there, you'll square off with the first Dragonborn because ... actually, that's not clear. What's your motivation? Possibly you just don't like his taste in hats.

Other than that, Bethesda is also promising:

Explore beyond Skyrim: leave the province of Skyrim and travel to the coastal island of Solstheim. Encounter the Dark Elven settlers of Raven Rock and the native Skaal, as you unravel the mystery of a Dragonborn's return.

Become the ultimate Dragonborn: harness the power of the Voice as you face off against the first Dragonborn. Wield new shouts and spells, including Dragon Aspect — allowing you to summon the inner power of a dragon to deliver colossal blows and strengthen other shouts.

New powers: discover dark powers as you journey into a new Daedric realm. Collect books of forbidden knowledge and choose new paths for your skills and abilities.

New dungeons, creatures, weapons and more: suit up in Bonemold and Chitin armour and wield Stalhrim weapons as you navigate through a myriad of dungeons. Battle formidable foes like Ash Spawn, Rieklings and more.

In all, it sounds ... well, pretty massive. And it should, because the whole thing will set you back 1600 Microsoft points, which is pretty hefty. Also, note that we said Microsoft points — the DLC has only been announced for Xbox, with no PC yet. (And obviously no PS3.)

Below are 12 new screenshots to whet your appetite for dragon-based destruction.

Dragon mounts, as promised.

A netch. The males are called Bull netches, the females are called Betty netches. We're not making this up.
