Music to fit the mood (pictures)

Songza turns the usual genre browsing paradigm on its head, instead letting you choose music by activity with an intuitive interface.

Get the perfect music for right now

Instead of drilling down through genres, you can choose an activity and then see playlist choices that match what you're doing.

Creatively named playlists

Check out the popular tab (button at bottom) to see what other Songza users are listening to right now. You have to admit the playlist names are much more compelling than, say, "'90s hip-hop."

Don't worry, genres are still available

If you just want to drill down to a specific genre, you still have the option.

Don't forget to vote!

Like other streaming-music services, you can vote on music to train the app to deliver more of what you like in future playlists.

High quality audio option

When you plug in a pair of headphones or earbuds, Songza displays a HQ button. When pressed, you'll be able to pick your make and model of headphones from a list.

Tons of headphone options

Once you hit the HQ button, you can choose the brand of headphones you use, then find your particular pair from a list with photos. I experienced a noticeable difference once I selected my Sony earbuds.
