Motorola Droid 2 Global (Verizon Wireless)

The Motorola Droid 2 Global is Verizon's second Android device (the other being the Motorola Droid Pro) to offer world-roaming capabilities. It's available now in either black or white for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.

Design

The Droid 2 Global's design is a lot like the Droid 2. The handset measures 4.58 inches tall by 2.38 inches wide by 0.54 inch thick and weighs 5.96 ounces. It also features a 3.7-inch WVGA touch screen.

One difference between the two devices it that the Droid 2 Global features a slightly faster 1.2GHz processor (compared with the Droid 2's 1GHz processor).

Keyboard

The Droid 2 Global's QWERTY keyboard is a huge improvement over the original Droid's. Without the D-pad, it's more comfortable to use and the buttons have a slight bump to them, making them easier to press. That said, it's not quite as good as the keyboards on the Samsung Epic 4G and T-Mobile G2.

Left side

On the smartphone's left spine, you'll find a Micro-USB port. There's a volume rocker and camera key on the right.

Picture quality

Picture quality wasn't that bad, though we think it could be a touch sharper and colors a bit more vibrant.
