The phones of Windows Phone 7

The question on everyone's mind is whether Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system will deliver what the company needs to re-energize its presence in the ultracompetitive and constantly changing mobile marketplace. At a press event in New York today, Microsoft announced nine smartphones from four manufacturers that will carry the Windows Phone 7 OS. We've got photos of seven of 'em, and will add the Samsung Omnia 7 and the LG Optimus 7 when we have them.

The Dell Venue Pro is Dell's only offering of the bunch. All Windows Phone 7 handsets come with a capacitive touch screen, a 1GHz processor, and three navigation keys below. The Dell Venue Pro also includes a slide-up keyboard. It will come to T-Mobile USA.

HTC 7 Mozart

We don't know much about the HTC 7 Mozart right now, but from what we can tell, the phone is typical HTC with rounded corners and a sleek body. The Mozart will be available in Europe on the Orange network and in Australia on Telstra.

HTC HD7

The HD7 features a wide kickstand at the top of the phone that folds over the camera. We took a look at this one at CTIA Fall 2010 here in San Francisco and walked away impressed.

The HD7 will come to T-Mobile USA, to the UK, and Germany on O2, and to Spain on Movistar. It will also come to Singapore on the SingTel network.
