The Dark Knight faces the Arkham Knight in the new game from Rocksteady and Warner Bros.

Commissioner Jim Gordon calls for help once more following the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

The Batsignal lights the sky above Gotham City, which is split into three islands with various neon-drenched districts. This design makes for a more open setting than previous games.

Wrong 'uns including Two Face are tearing up the town.

Who is Johnny Charisma? Fans speculate that the name could relate to a certain crown prince of crime...

Batman returns!

Batman is supported by the know-how of Oracle, confined to a wheelchair by the Joker's bullet.

Oracle is really Barbara Gordon -- the police chief's daughter.

"Very good, sir." Faithful butler Alfred in the Batcave.

"Where does he get such wonderful toys?" Lucius Fox is the Q to Batman's James Bond.

Batman's sidekick Robin springs into action.

The boy wonder doesn't look too happy.

Catwoman is also in on the action.

A former Robin, Dick Grayson is now Nightwing, protector of Gotham's neighbouring city of Bludhaven.

Things don't look great for the caped crusader.

Batman and his associates team up for brutal collaborative combat moves. Note the poster for the Flying Graysons, the family circus act that taught Dick Grayson his moves before tragedy turned him to crimefighting.

The Batmobile hits the road, heavily influenced by the tank-like Tumbler from the "Dark Knight" movies.

But so is Batman, with the heavily-armed and extremely agile Batmobile.
