The Logitech S715i is a portable, rechargeable speaker dock for the Apple iPhone or iPod, priced at $149 and due out in August of 2010.

The design of the Logitech S715i includes eight custom-designed drivers covering separate sound frequencies. Given its size, it offers unprecedented bass response.

Unlike older iPod speakers, the Logitech S715i promises compatibility with both iPods and iPhones, and is shielded for cell phone interference.

Logitech S715i

The Logitech S715i's excellent bass response is helped by two rear-firing passive radiators. Connections for aux input and power adapter are also included on the back, as well as an integrated kickstand.

A total of three drivers are placed on each wing of the Logitech S715i, not including the two passive radiators mounted on the back. By utilizing frequency crossovers and a tuned enclosure, the Logitech S715i delivers fantastic sound for the money.

The cover for the dock folds back for use as a kickstand. The dock's well doesn't use molded inserts, but can accommodate any iPod Touch, Nano, Classic, or iPhone from the past five years.

A bite-sized IR remote control is also included with the Logitech S715i. It has an operating range of around 20-30 feet. A carrying case and power adapter are also included.

Logitech S715i

Compared with previous portable speakers from Logitech, the S715i is the largest and most powerful portable systems we've tested. Inspite of its relatively large size, it's still slim enough to fit in a backpack or messenger bag.
