LG Versa
The LG Versa is quite possibly the most versatile phone we've tried. It is the only touch-screen phone we know with the option of adding external modules. In fact, the Versa comes with a QWERTY keyboard module out of the box. Aside from the optional modules, the Versa is a fairly decent touch-screen phone, with plenty of high-end features like EV-DO, GPS, and a full HTML browser with Flash Lite.
The LG Versa has a 3.0-inch touch-screen display with up to three customizable home screens. You have one home screen of shortcuts for your favorite contacts, one for your favorite media files and Web bookmarks, and one for your favorite applications. If you attach a module, you'll gain one additional home screen specific to that module.
The LG Versa is fairly thin at only 0.54-inch thick.
The LG Versa has a nice soft-touch back cover that provides a comfortable grip when held.
The LG Versa has a 2.0-megapixel camera lens and an LED flash on the back.
The LG Versa has a decent touch-screen interface with haptic feedback, which means it vibrates to let you know your touch has registered. It also has a virtual QWERTY keyboard, a drawing pad, a virtual dialpad, and handwriting recognition.
The LG Versa comes with an additional QWERTY keyboard module right in the box. You attach the module by removing the battery cover and then aligning the contact pins to the module.
As soon as you attach the keyboard module to the LG Versa, you'll get an additional home screen specific to the keyboard module. The screen orientation of the home screens will also change to landscape mode when the phone is held horizontally due to the internal accelerometer.
The QWERTY keyboard that comes with the LG Versa is more than just an attachment. It also acts as a case with cutouts for the camera lens. Plus it has an external 0.94-inch OLED display and two external call buttons. The overall design did look a bit too '90s, though.
The LG Versa fits very comfortably in the hand.
Since it's so thin and light, the LG Versa won't weigh you down and will fit nicely in a jeans front pocket.
