Lamborghini goes RWD with lightweight, redesigned Huracán LP 580-2
While AWD is nice for stability, there's no beating the joy of a rear-wheel-drive supercar, and Lamborghini has a new one.
LOS ANGELES -- This is the brand-new Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2, a rear-wheel-drive version of the company's epic supercar.
The normal Huracán features all-wheel drive to put its 602 horsepower to the ground. But, by going RWD, the new 580-2 will make for a more enjoyable drive.
The 580 stands for 580 metric horsepower, which equates to 572 in old-world numbers.
The lack of the AWD system means the car weighs 72 pounds less than normal, and it carries a 40/60 front/rear weight split.
The car has also been subtly restyled to accentuate its RWD nature.
There's a 12.3-inch virtual dashboard inside, which includes normal stuff, like engine revs and speed, and can also do full-screen navigation.
The Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 is available for order now, starting at €150,000. That equates to roughly $159,500, £105,000 or AU$224,000.
