Right to the router

You'll start by plugging the base station directly into your router.

USB-powered

You'll also need to keep it powered by plugging in a Micro-USB cable.

Make room

It's a bit bulky -- you'll need some extra clearance behind your router.

Adding tags

Once you're all plugged in, you'll sync up with the app, which offers step-by-step instructions on how to install the system's tags on your doors and windows.

Stick 'em up

Installation is a cinch -- just peel and stick, then activate the battery.

In the app

You'll arm and disarm the system by tapping the lock icon on the home screen. Tapping the gear and then tapping "House Profile" will bring up your system settings, but you won't find very many options.

Accelerometer smarts

The tags work using accelerometers: when the door moves, they'll sense it. If the system is armed, they'll sound the siren.

Intrusion detected

When the alarm's going off, you'll receive a notification, along with the option to call the police.

Pricing

A Korner system costs $98 for a three-tag setup (converted, about £65). You can add additional tags for $25 each (a little over £15). After the first year, you'll need to start paying a $40 yearly fee to continue using the system (a little over £25). For more on the Korner Home Security system, check out our complete review.
