Ahead of the Paris Motor Show, coming up in October, Kia previewed its Pop concept. An example of a pure design concept, the Pop is unlike anything that will ever enter production, although it does explore some interesting ideas, such as having the only side glass in the doors.
The Pop is designed as a three-seater. From this top view, it appears that all three occupants are meant to sit next to each over on bench seat. That seat curves back slightly for the driver position, as the steering gear protrudes from the dashboard.
The front of the concept is very short, in the style of Japanese Kei class cars. Kia says the Pop would be driven by an electric power train, although it offered no specifications on range or power.
The headlights appear to be LEDs, a good choice for an electric-powered car because of their low energy usage.
This detail shot from the rear shows a bumper-mounted camera, probably a necessary element of the car as the design seems to severely compromise rear visibility.
