Though optimizing the app for the larger iPhone screens is a small tweak, it's a pretty big deal for those who use Gmail for iOS on a regular basis.

Icons are a nice touch

When a friend doesn't have a photo associated with his account, the app adds a small icon (the green "J"). It's not a big change, but I like the way it looks.
