You'll find two small prefabricated homes right next to each other in the South Hall lower level, which are outfitted to display some of the best-rated appliances for energy efficiency.

LED overhead lights have significant advantages in energy efficiency, and these bulbs from Philips have a nice warm look to them.

Here we see a washer and dryer by Whirlpool.

This "home network infrastructure system" is by Leviton.

Displayed here (disconnected) is a tankless water heater by Seisco.

Inside at the neighbors' we are treated to Reliant's vision for a greener tomorrow.

Reliant offers smart meters to those serviced by energy companies they work with. Here you can see a digital readout of that day's usage as measured by the home's smart meter. You can click through to see the cost of what was used that day and turn off the air conditioner when it's getting too expensive. Smart meters can also communicate with an iPad or other device with the necessary app.

Appliances were chosen based on Energy Star ratings.

This bulb display shows the relative brightness of various LED options.

Reliant's solar-leasing option allows people to get the benefits of current technology without investing thousands in a set of panels that may be improved on by newer panels in the near future.
