The Huawei MediaPad M1 is an 8-inch tablet, packing a quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera and 4G LTE connectivity that also lets you make calls and send texts. It's due to go on sale in May in the UK, but Huawei has yet to say whether it'll be available in other regions or how much it will cost. It's expected to sit somewhere around the £200 mark though.
The design isn't likely to turn many heads but it shouldn't turn stomachs either.
It's 7.9mm thick -- easy enough to slide into a bag.
The speakers sit on the front, above and below the screen like the HTC One. We'll have to wait and see if they can provide a similarly impressive sound.
There's a 1-megapixel front-facing camera.
A power button and volume rocker sit on the side.
On the back you'll spy a 5-megapixel camera.
And on the top is a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Charging and data transfer is handled by the Micro-USB port.
It's small enough to slide into a nice jeans pocket.
It's running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean -- a disappointingly old version of Google's software.
Huawei has slapped on its Emotion UI though so you won't immediately notice that you're on older Android.
There's no dedicated app menu. Instead, app icons and widgets are all scattered across numerous homescreens.
It's highly customisable too, with various themes to choose from.
You can change transition animations too.
Otherwise, Android functions in much the same way it does on other devices.
The tablet is comfortable to hold.
