BARCELONA, Spain -- The lesser of HTC's two new phones here at Mobile World Congress is the Desire 610.
Like the bigger Desire 816, it's a curvy plastic phone in the vein of the iPhone 5C.
Its 4.7-inch screen has a 960x540-pixel resolution, so it's not HD.
HTC's packed in an 8-megapixel camera. We didn't get much chance to try it in our brief hands-on, but our full review will reveal more.
It's a thin and light effort, with HTC's usual attention to detail.
Inside is a quad-core processor -- it's no slouch.
It has 4G LTE, so downloads won't hang about either.
Android 4.4 KitKat, Google's latest software, is on board. HTC has put all its usual bumf on there too, like BlinkFeed.
BoomSound! Boom! Sound! That's what HTC calls its dual, front-facing speaker system.
There's the other speaker.
The HTC Desire 610 will make its debut globally sometime in Q2, so the next few months.
While the back is glossy, the sides are matte for better grip.
The phone we saw was actually a prototype. The final version may be very slightly different to this handset.
The Desire 610 comes in an array of fun colours. For megatonnes more mobile coverage, check out our MWC 2014 home page.
