T-Mobile lands the HTC HD7, which rocks the largest display on a Windows Phone 7 device. CNET goes hands-on with smartphone from at Microsoft's launch event in New York.

HTC HD7

The HTC HD7 holds the special title of having the largest display on any Windows Phone 7 smartphone announced at the launch event. It measures 4.3 inches diagonally and has a 480x800 pixel resolution.

Taking advantage of the large display, T-Mobile will bundle the HD7 with a number of entertainment apps, including Netflix and T-Mobile TV. The HTC HD7 will be available in mid-November, but a specific date and pricing were not released at this time.

Largest keyboard

As a result of having the largest display, the HD7 also has the biggest onscreen keyboard on a Windows Phone 7 handset. Indeed, we found the portrait keyboard easier to use than that of other devices.

Evo-like

On the right side, you'll find a volume rocker and a camera button. Overall, we found the HD7 to be very similar to the HTC Evo 4G in design and feel.

Kickstand

Also like the Evo 4G, the HD7 has a kickstand!

For your viewing pleasure

The kickstand allows you to place the phone on a flat surface so you can watch videos, slide shows, and listen to music hands free.
