The Kreyos Meteor, available this fall for $169, is another smartwatch attempting to outdo the competition. In a lot of ways it's like the Pebble, but its feature set is deeper. It also works with iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8.
Much like the Pebble, the Kreyos has a 1.2-inch 144x168-pixel black and white nontouch display, is water-resistant to over 5 meters, and has a variety of watch faces. But its WatchBand accessory, available in a variety of colors, can snap off.
The Kreyos Meteor's actually just a standalone pocketable gadget that can be snapped into other accessory cases.
The rear of the Kreyos shows the contact points for the charge/sync cradle.
A variety of belt clip and lanyard silicone accessories for the Kreyos; there are even women's and men's watchbands with different thicknesses.
A sampling of belt clip colors.
The Kreyos Meteor feels chunkier than the Pebble, but it's not actually all that much larger.
Tucked into a pink lanyard. The Kreyos can be used offline with its included widget apps, and doesn't require a smartphone for syncing: you could use a Mac or Windows PC instead.
Included fitness apps track running, walking, and cycling modes.
Tracking pedometer data on a smartwatch should be possible on every product on the market, but it isn't.
A side view of the belt clip and the side buttons.
a USB charge/sync cradle.
Wristbands snap around the Kreyos. It's not a perfect solution, but it seemed to hold the Kreyos in tightly.
A menagerie of silicone and plastic accessories. Kreyos' site says there will be more to come.
