Media at the palm of your hands
Although we spotted it at last year's Mobile World Congress, the Samsung Galaxy Player is a contender for the iPod touch.
With its 4.2-inch, 800x480p screen, the appropriately named Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 media player has a body like a mobile phone, but comes with no data connection. Its WiFi ability let's you roam the Internet, without the network fee.
Speakers on top
To increase its music listening experience, Samsung placed the speakers on the front of the device, so users can place the screen right side up.
Comparing it to its counterpart
Although the Player 4.2 shares the same camera, memory, and CPU specs, it has a larger resolution and a gyro sensor.
Not the greatest of cameras
The Player 4.2 has a VGA front-facing camera and will be available for pre-order on May 4, and will come in black and white.
Skimpy on the megapixels
The rear-facing camera has only 2-megapixels, but it is equipped with three games, including an ad-free version of Angry Birds.
Ready to rock
The Galaxy Player 4.2 will be available in stores on May 13 for $199.99.
