Get to know the Netatmo Weather Station (pictures)
This smart system is capable of tracking temperature, humidity, noise, and even CO2 levels around the home.
The Netatmo Weather Station
The Netatmo Weather Station consists of two cylindrical modules -- one for indoors and one for outdoors. Together, they'll send all sorts of environmental data straight to your smartphone. Click ahead for the details.
Hard-wired indoor module
The indoor module plugs in via micro USB.
Battery-powered outdoor module
The outdoor module uses two AAA batteries (included) to stay powered for as long as a year.
Mountable module
You'll be able to mount the outdoor module wherever you like.
Outdoor placement
Netatmo recommends keeping the outdoor module out of direct sunlight, and at least somewhat sheltered from direct rainfall if possible.
Extra modules
You can expand your setup with additional modules if needed. Outdoor units go for $69 each, while extra indoor units cost $79 (£59). (Other pricing for countries outside the US isn't currently available.)
Rain gauge, too
There's also a new Netatmo Rain Gauge accessory you can pick up for $79.
Smartphone app
Along with logging into Netatmo's website, you'll be able to monitor your system directly from your phone using the Netatmo app.
Tablet app
With so much data, the Netatmo app looks a little less cluttered if you're using a tablet.
Data galore
Along with monitoring current conditions, the app will let you track how things have changed over time, which is a cool feature.
Tap to refresh
The Netatmo will log conditions every five minutes, but you can tap the top of the indoor module to force a reading at any time.
