GE's got you covered with this gas range
The $1,200 GE PGB911SEJSS gas range performs well when it comes to basic cooking tasks. Here's why we liked this range.
GE PGB911SEJSS
The GE PGB911SEJSS is a freestanding gas range with a stainless steel finish. It's 30 inches wide, a standard size for ranges.
The cooktop features five burners, including an oval one in the center.
The touchpad controls operate the oven's functions, which include convection bake and roast.
The burner knobs are located on the front of the range.
GE includes a reversible griddle for you to use with the center burner. One side is flat, and the other has raised ridges.
This side of the griddle was great for grilling meats.
Foods like grilled cheese sandwiches cooked well on the smooth griddle surface.
The oven has a 5.6-cubic-foot capacity.
The GE roasted a pretty good chicken, though it wasn't as great as birds from other ovens.

I baked these biscuits simultaneously on convection mode. The biscuits in the top-left picture baked on a higher rack than those in the photo beneath it. The illustrations at the right show the brownness of the biscuits.
Biscuits baked more evenly on traditional mode without the convection fan, as pictured here. The burgers on the right got slightly browner.
The numbers in this picture show the average time it took for each burger to reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit under the oven's broiler. The burger located in the back center cooked the fastest, indicating that this is the hottest part of the broiler.
