Name: Rocco Ancora

Biography: Rocco is one of Australia's leading wedding photographers. After excelling at science and art during his education, Rocco turned his hand to photography. His style is distinctive, imbued with classical and romantic imagery, as well as evocative lighting and composition, similar to films from the 1940s and 1950s. This is complemented by a special ability common to all great portraitists: being able to connect with people so they interact comfortably with the photographer and feel at ease in front of the camera.

Rocco continues to be featured prominently in the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) awards list and is celebrated both in Australia and internationally as an educator, presenting seminars at WPPI US, UK and Europe. Rocco remains humbled and honoured by these awards and, most of all, privileged by the unique opportunity to memorialise lives through artistic and timeless imagery.

One of the top 10 wedding photographers as selected by American Photo magazine (2011). Australian Institute of Professional Photography's Wedding Photographer of the Year (awarded four times, most recently in 2010). Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year and Victorian Wedding Photographer of the Year (2010). Australia's number one wedding photographer as voted by Capture magazine (2010).
