ATLANTA -- Believe it or not, you're not looking at the late James Doohan, better known as Scotty (Montgomery Scott) from the original "Star Trek" television show and movies, but rather a costumer named Larry Robertson posing as the iconic sci-fi character at Dragon Con.
The annual event, spread across multiple convention-size hotels, draws in tens of thousands of people to Georgia's capital and has become somewhat of a mecca for cosplay -- the act of wearing a costume and changing your appearance to match a character from any geeky genre, ranging from video games, comic books, movies, and more. You better watch out for the allure of Poison Ivy, who wowed the audience of a costume contest at Dragon Con with her unique dress. The skeleton stayed hidden until Poison's robe came off, which surprised the crowd.
This incredible Daft Punk-inspired cool cat, by Harrison Krix of Volpin Props, grabbed major attention at Dragon Con. Krix implemented a Wi-Fi equipped Arduino board so that he can send custom messages, patterns, and other designs to the LED-equipped helmet from his iPhone.
