DoubleTwist makes syncing music to your desktop a snap (pictures)

We take a look at the impressive DoubleTwist media player for Android, which offers powerful features including reliable syncing to your desktop.

Pick a button, any button

DoubleTwist's dashboard is pretty straightforward. It lets you sift through your collection by artist, album, song title, or genre. Plus it includes links to streaming radio, a podcast directory, and your playlists.

Look familiar?

DoubleTwist's Now Playing screen offers a Cover Flow-like view with peeks at previous and next tracks. Of course, it doesn't look as nice without the album art, though.

And the boring view

If you're not into album art, you can switch to a drab list view with a single tap.

Share with friends

No, it doesn't let you share the actual song files. Rather the Share button lets you tell your friends what you're listening to on DoubleTwist.

The best things on DoubleTwist are not free

If your plan is to sync your music between your desktop and mobile device, then the AirSync wireless functionality for $4.99 is a must. The $9.99 Pro upgrade is also worthwhile, as it adds a graphic equalizer, a nifty album art fetcher and other features.

Tweak your sound

The graphic equalizer isn't all that pretty, but it works. Plus, it offers a variety of presets that are optimized for different types of content.

Podcast galore

DoubleTwist's podcast directory lets you search for and subscribe to your favorite video and audio podcasts.

Streaming radio too

The radio menus are hard to navigate, but they do offer streaming radio stations for a variety of genres from rap to classical to talk radio.

Video

DoubleTwist's video player, well, plays videos. Nothing special to see here.
