The plug is designed to handle appliances with 100 to 125 volts of alternating current (VAC).
For that reason, it works best with lamps or other small appliances.
This plug can be attached to any three-prong outlet -- whether wall-mounted or located on a power strip.
It measures 3.5 inches tall by 2.4 inches wide by 1.4 inches deep -- not huge, but not exactly small either.
D-Link's Wi-Fi Smart Plug is compatible with the free Mydlink app (available under different names for Android and iOS devices).
You can use the app to set schedules, monitor energy usage, or simply turn your appliance on and off remotely.
The sticker on the back of the Smart Plug lists the Wi-Fi name, your PIN code, and the plug's model number -- all useful info for setup or troubleshooting.
