Welcome to CTIA
A giant banner welcomed attendees to CTIA 2009.
On the floor
CTIA was held in the same Las Vegas Convention Center halls as CES, but it was far less crowded.
LG
True to form, LG had one of the most stunning booths at CTIA. The Arena held center stage.
Kyocera cool
You also can rely on Kyocera to build an attractive booth. Here, a few of the company's newest handsets sit on a bed of (fake) grass.
Bringing Japan to Vegas
NTT DoCoMo displayed some of its sleek Japan-only phones behind glass. Most of these handsets are geared for serious multimedia.
Samsung flash
Samsung built a light show out of the vivid displays on its new Impression phone.
More Samsung phones
You can always find the Samsung phone wall in its booth. Most of these models will actually make it to North America.
Don't touch
We saw the Samsung Blue Earth solar-powered phone for the second time. But, again, it was out of reach behind glass.
Nokia E71 and more
Though Nokia announced few phones at the show, it displayed its current lineup in a spacious, colorful booth.
Sony Ericsson speakers
Sony Ericsson had a small presence at CTIA, with just one display in the Ericsson booth. Besides its recent phones, it also has a few eye-catching cell phone speakers.
No Magic
The HTC booth was plenty busy, but our hopes of a new U.S. Android phone (such an HTC Magic for T-Mobile) went unfulfilled. You could see the new HTC Snap, however.
Perusing PCD
You could play with PCD's latest models in its booth. At center is the AT&T Quickfire.
ZTE at home
At the ZTE booth there was a special display for the company's North American phones, like the C78 and C79.
On display, but not available
After making a big splash at CTIA two years ago, Alcatel assumed a much quieter presence this year. We're still waiting, though not with baited breath, for the company's phones to arrive in the United States.
Zoom zoom zoom
You could drive a race car simulator at the Powerwave booth. Powerwave makes antenna and cellular-repeater equipment.
More apps for you
The BlackBerry App World was big news at the show.
