Extra-tough, Commando 4G LTE
The Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE (pronounced "jeez-one") was designed for someone with an active and outdoorsy lifestyle. It's water- and dustproof, can survive extreme temperatures, and is shock resistant. It's currently available for $99.99 on-contract from Verizon.
What's on the inside
Powering the device is a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a 1,800mAh battery that has a reported talk time of up to 9 hours.
Not very slim
The Commando 4G LTE is hefty and weighs 6.08 ounces. Its body is reinforced with tough rubber along its sides and back and its ports can be sealed with small plugs.
Everything on lockdown
A vertical toggle lock secures the battery door. To remove the plate, switch the lock upward. Then, using an indentation to the right, pry off the plate with your finger. The battery inside is also locked down.
A boost of sound
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handset has a 4-inch WVGA display with a 480x800-pixel resolution that's topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Below the screen are dual front-facing speakers.
Taking pictures in the wild
Both the 8-megapixel camera (pictured here) and the 1.3-megapixel camera in the front have digital zoom, an exposure meter, geotagging, a timer, six white balances, four color effects, two qualities, image stabilization, touch shutter, and grid lines.
Say cheese, chalkboard
For video recording, both cameras have audio muting and the same zoom, exposure meter, geotagging option, timer, white balances, color effects, two qualities, and grid lines functionality.
