Case-Mate's mix-and-match Quartet iPhone case (photos)

Case-Mate's CES booth looked more like a Lego store with its build-your-own iPhone case station. Get a closer look here.

Case-Mate Quartet iPhone Case

Cell phone accessory maker Case-Mate set up a station at its booth at CES 2012 that let people build their own iPhone cases. The Quartet case is actually available now for $35 and contains six modular pieces that you can mix and match to create your own case.

Bins of blocks

Case-Mate had canisters filled with Quartet pieces, so people could pick and choose their colors. It reminded me of being in a Lego store.

Decisions, decisions

Which color do I want? Case-Mate offers three color sets: sensuous silk, rustic tweed, and vintage flannel.

If you build it, they will come

Offer people free stuff and you're sure to draw large crowds.

Creation station

A little workshop station was set up so people could build their cases right on the spot.

Designed by Eric Arlen

Case-Mate collaborated with designer Eric Arlen to come up with the Quartet case. Arlen worked for such brands as Nike, Puma, and Toyota and co-designed the Nao humanoid robot.

Compatibility

The Quartet case is compatible with the iPhone 4 and 4S, and the pieces offer access to all of your phone's ports.
