Big, but comfy
The SX1 IS is almost identical to the SX10, though it's mostly matte black plastic instead of reflective graphite and black. Like the SX10, it has the relatively widely separated stereo mics.
Clever labeling
Though it's not something you're likely to use a lot, the equivalency markings on the lens of the SX1 (as well as the SX10) are a nice touch.
Custom slot
As with many other Canon models, you can save custom settings to access via the C slot on the mode dial.
Nav wheel
I like the dial for navigation and adjusting settings, but it could use a little more tactile response.
Aspect ratio toggle
Canon provides a dedicated button to jump between 4:3 and 16:9. Unfortunately, this can get unncessarily confusing if you prefer to shoot 16:9 videos and 4:3 (full resolution) stills.
