With its musical guides, CarStars is flashy and innovative, but it offers some practical advantages as well. The Voxonics software, which creates artist voices, is clever, while the MusicStation feature lets you listen to a huge variety of music.

It's no secret that Palm's been struggling to keep up with the competition and has come under heavy criticism for lack of innovation and delays in its new operating system. The company may now be on the comeback trail with its Palm Web OS and Palm Pre smartphone. The Pre offers a nice combination of a slide-out keyboard and a multi-touch screen, but more impressive is the user interface and the Palm Web OS, which offers true multitasking.

The P-series Lifestyle PC is one of the smallest laptops we've seen. The wide-screen, 8-inch 1,600x768 display and tiny keyboard give this machine roughly the same footprint as a standard white business envelope. We wish it had a tiny touchpad instead of a pointing stick, but the 3G mobile broadband antenna, 802.11n Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth are all pluses.

Wi-Fi-enabled cameras have been around for several years, but arguably never took off because they never hit on the right combination of performance and capabilities. Thanks to a combination of photo album tools and a built-in Web browser, the G3 might have the recipe for success.

5 of 10 Nyko
The Nyko Wand improves on the original Nintendo Wii remote and its ability to send out commands via its Trans-Port has seemingly endless applications.

We've seen connected GPS before, including the Dash Express and TeleNav Shotgun, but the TomTom GO 740 Live offers a sleeker design and brings plenty of dynamic information right to the driver, including traffic, fuel prices, Google search, and weather data. The price is also reasonable. The GO 740 Live just may be the device to get consumers onboard with connected portable navigation devices.

Blu-ray home theater is ready for prime time, and the Samsung HT-BD7200 is a good example of why. The 2.1-style (two speakers plus subwoofer) home theater system combines a unique design that's anything but boxy and boring with a full load of features. The built-in Blu-ray player (replete with BD-Live capability and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding) also supports streaming Netflix online video and the Pandora music service. It's also Wi-Fi-ready (with the addition of a separate USB dongle). Top it off with an iPod dock and the ability to stream audio from A2DP-compatible Bluetooth audio devices, such as music phones.

The Dish DuoDVR SlingLoaded ViP922 is a 1TB HD DVR that includes built-in Slingbox functionality, allowing you to stream live and recorded Dish Network TV programming to Windows PCs, Macs, and a wide variety of 3G smartphones.

Samsung's P3 touch-screen MP3 player makes its debut at CES 2009. The P3 includes a 3-inch WQVGA display, FM radio, Bluetooth, and audio and video playback. The P3 will be available in the first half of 2009 in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32 GB storage capacities.
Panasonic_G10.jpg
10 of 10 Panasonic
The Panasonic G10 series of plasma TVs builds upon last year's Editors' Choice winner among plasma TVs, which also featured THX Display Certification for accurate color, by improving black level performance and incorporating the company's VieraCast Internet content service with Amazon Video on Demand. Best of all, the NEO PDP panel uses half as much power as previous 1080p Panasonic plasmas.
