Asus Memo Pad 10 a quad-core, budget 10-inch Android tablet (pictures)

BERLIN -- The Asus Memo Pad 10 packs a quad-core processor into its 10-inch, plastic frame and will come with an affordable price tag. Asus hasn't said exactly how much just yet, but expect to hear more as it goes on sale toward the end of the year.

It has an all-plastic design. It looks undeniably "budget," but it's still fairly attractive.

There's a 2-megapixel rear camera. Don't expect to take the photography world by storm with it.

Dual speakers sit on the right and left hand sides. Hopefully they'll be loud enough to enjoy Netflix while you're cooking.

It's not superskinny, but you won't struggle to slide it into your bag next to your laptop.

If you're not keen on white, the Memo Pad 10 will also come in gray and pink.

The plastic chassis didn't feel particularly firm, so you'll want to be careful about how much you throw it around.

There's a 1.6GHz quad-core processor under the hood, which should be more than enough for the essentials.

The screen has a disappointing resolution, but it's mercifully quite bright and reasonably bold -- good enough for YouTube clips, at least.
