The Dyson AM06 desk fan

Nearly five years after unveiling the original Air Multiplier, Dyson is back with an updated version of its signature bladeless desk fan. Click through to see what's new.

Blades? What blades?

Instead of spinning blades to circulate air, the Dyson AM06 spins a turbine in the base to send air up and out through its hollow loop. You can see through it or even stick your hand through it.

New remote

Unlike its predecessor, the AM01, the Dyson AM06 features a handy remote that'll let you turn the fan on and off, increase or decrease its intensity, turn oscillation on and off, or set a sleep timer, after which the fan will turn off automatically.

Nestled on top

The remote can be parked right on top of the AM06 when not in use. A cleverly located magnet within the fan helps to keep it in place.

Vanishing LED display

The vanishing LED display on the base is another new feature. One more change to keep in mind: the only control on the base is the on/off button, so don't lose that remote.

Cool at a cost

The AM06's attractive design and cool new features won't come cheap. The 10-inch model, available at Dyson.com, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, and select Macy's stores, will cost you a whopping $299.
