Amazon Fire HD tablets are cheap -- in a good way (pictures)

The 6- and 7-inch tablets boast a feature-rich OS and both start below $150.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6 and 7

Amazon's latest budget tablets are living up to their name and setting the tablet scene on fire. Starting at $99 (£79) and $139 (£79) respectively, the Fire HD 6 and Fire HD 7 are two of the most feature-rich budget models.

Redefining small

The Amazon Fire HD 6 is shown on top of the Fire HD 7. The 6-inch slate is super easy to handle in one hand and extremely portable.

Despite the 1-inch size difference, both Fire HD tablets sport the same thickness.
