A more modest Food Showcase fridge from Samsung (pictures)
Though not as flashy-looking as the more expensive version, this Samsung Food Showcase side-by-side refrigerator carries much of the same appeal.
Samsung Food Showcase Side-by-Side Refrigerator (RH25H5611SR)
The RH25H5611SR is the most affordable Food Showcase refrigerator in Samsung's lineup, complete with door-within-a-door trickery. Click through to see how it works.
A simple build
The fridge is pretty innocuous to look at, with a basic build and none of the flash of the original Food Showcase fridge.
Touch controls
Like a lot of modern fridges, the RH25H5611SR offers touch controls above the water dispenser, with attractive blue LED lights.
Food Showcase
There's a trigger on the bottom half of the fridge door handle. Squeeze it, and you'll open the front panel of the fridge, revealing the in-door shelves inside.
Inner case
Ignore that trigger, and you'll open the fridge like normal.
Fridge capacity
15.6 of the refrigerator's 22.7-cubic-foot capacity gets allocated to the fridge compartment.
Sliding shelves
Those three shelves all feature spillproof rims. They slide out like drawers, too, offering easy access to items in the back.
Ice Master
The ice maker sits inside the freezer, and feeds ice down through the water dispenser.
Showcase on performance
With no orange hotspots in the body of the fridge, this is a very decent result for a side-by-side fridge at the default setting.
Pull the trigger?
At $2,100, this is as affordable as Food Showcase fridges get. Does that make it a bargain? Read our full review for the final verdict.
