Closed gaming station

The Pelican 1600 that holds all the components of the gaming getup is an industrial case with a wide variety of uses. The cases retail for about $145 new, and you can get them customized with different paddings on the inside.

From the inside

Here is the inside of the Pelican case with the cut padding and supports in place. It's easy to buy a large chunk of foam at a craft store and X-Acto your way to a custom fit.

Up and running

The 22-inch wide-screen LCD monitor is perfect for playing games if you're not sitting too far away. On an airplane or in a hotel room would be ideal.

A custom piece of plastic wraps around the monitor and makes it fit snug inside the lid of the case. It looks very professional, though it's simple.

Without the foam, it doesn't look so glamorous, but you get a peek at what's inside. Note the small power strip that makes the entire thing run from one power jack.
