A look at Google Calendar for Android (pictures)
The official Google Calendar app has finally hit Google Play. We take a look at its decidedly basic feature set.
Month at a glance
While the month View gives you a great snapshot of a large range of time, its colored bars can be overwhelming and hard to decipher. To switch between different views, tap the dropdown picker on the left.
Appointments for the day
Switching to Day view gives you a breakdown of your schedule by the hour, and offers you the most space see all of your different appointments. What's more, you can pinch to zoom in if you have an especially tight schedule and need to see more details on one screen. Swipe left or right to move between days.
Week in view
Similar to the single-day view, the Week view gives you a breakdown by the hour. It also supports the pinch-to-zoom gesture.
Agenda
If you don't need to see an entire calendar, the Agenda view shows only your scheduled events in list form. It also shows colored boxes, which indicate the specific calendar that each event belongs to.
Create events on the go
Creating events from the mobile app is just as easy as doing so on the Web. You can even invite people and set repeating events.
Quick responses
Use prewritten messages to send quick e-mails to event attendees.
Home screen widget
The Home screen widget gives you a quick snapshot of your agenda for the next few days.
