A look at Facebook for Windows Phone (pictures)
Microsoft's Facebook app for Windows Phone is out of beta. Here, we walk you through the app's main features.
News Feed
The News Feed in the app looks similar to Facebook's News Feed online and in the iOS and Android Facebook apps.
Left-side menu
Swiping right in the app, or tapping the three lines at the top-left corner, reveals a menu where you can find your profile, messages, events, settings, and more.
Profile page
Profile pages in the Windows Phone 8 app have smaller cover photos and fewer details than in other versions of the app.
Photo albums
Photo albums look really nice in the app, displaying as a grid of pictures.
Full-screen image view
If you tap on an image from an album or post, it will go full-screen and show icons to like, comment on, or tag the photo.
Facebook Chat in the app
You can access Chat by swiping to the left in the app and tapping on a friend's name. You'll then see the message thread. The Windows Phone app doesn't support stickers or group chat.
The Facebook Live Tile
The largest Facebook Live Tile shows your cover photo and the number of unread notifications you have. The tile also flips every 30 seconds to show your most recent status update.
Facebook lock screen
If you let it, Facebook can control your lock screen using your own photos for the background. This is the full-screen photo option, but you can also have a collage of photos with a blue background behind the date and time.
