A closer look at the entry-level LG F70 (pictures)

BARCELONA, Spain -- In addition to showcasing its mid- to high-end handsets, LG also took the wraps off an entry-level LTE device called the F70 during Mobile World Congress.

Sporting modest specs, the device is set to launch in March, starting with Europe, and then rolling out to other countries in Asia and Latin America.

The compact device features a plastic build and a 4.5-inch WVGA display.

It's powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm and a 2,440mAh removable battery.

Though the phone only holds 4GB of internal memory for all those resulting photos and videos, the option for expandable memory up to 32GB is provided.

As for its look, the F70 is stamped from the same mold as the new L series of phones, with rounded corners, a physical home button below the screen, and a lightly textured backing that strangely feels a little unpleasantly rough under the fingertips. The white model we saw was attractive-enough, and fit fine in the hand.

The battery door features a subtle textured pattern.

On the rear, you'll find a 5-megapixel camera with flash, coupled with a VGA secondary shooter in the front.
