2013 BMW 750Li adds data-driven features (pictures)
BMW gives its big, 7-series luxury cruiser apps in its BMW Online service and social media integration with the smartphone-based ConnectedDrive service.
The 750Li is the long-wheelbase version of BMW's 7-series, with the middle engine choice. It is a car that, while certainly very enjoyable to drive, also offers a very nice experience from the back seat.
The 750Li features one of BMW's newer tech hits, LED headlights. These lights project an extremely well-defined pattern, while using less energy and having greater life than incandescent lamps. These LED headlights are a win-win-win.
The engine in the 750Li is BMW's direct-injection 4.4-liter V-8 with forced induction from two twin-scroll turbochargers, one for each bank of cylinders. BMW also offers the 740i, with a 3-liter straight-six, and the 760i, powered by a 6-liter V-12.
An adaptive suspension makes the ride more pliable in Comfort Plus mode, and tightens it up in Sport mode. This car also came with optional Integral Active Steering, four-wheel steering, which helps the car's cornering.
The main LCD measures 10.2 inches, and BMW gives you the choice of showing it in this split-screen format or in full-screen. Here, the main menu occupies the left two thirds, while an online widget showing time and weather sits on the right third.
