YouTube and the National Hockey League are pairing up to hit the ice - and we're not talking figure skating here.

YouTube will be offering users short daily snippets of NHL games beginning this month, as part of a content and advertising partnership between the community video sharing site and hockey league.

Hockey fans will have access to high-action, body slamming NHL video highlights within 24 hours of their original broadcast, as well as other footage on and off the ice during the regular season.

Staking a spot out on YouTube's video rink , the NHL will offer up its own brand channel that's designed to help sports fans quickly find the hockey highlights. YouTube and the NHL, meanwhile, will share in revenues generated from the ads placed along side the hockey content.
