David Katz, who was in charge of Yahoo's sports and studios units, is no longer with the company, Yahoo says.

"We thank David for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors," a Yahoo statement said. "We have great leaders in place who will continue to drive our initiatives in both Sports and Studios."

A Yahoo spokeswoman declined to comment further.

According to this item in MediaWeek.com, Katz joined Yahoo in July 2005 from CBS and was credited with launching Yahoo Talent Show, a user-generated video contest.

The Yahoo Sports team will report into Scott Moore's News & Information group and Yahoo Studios will report into Vince Broady's Entertainment, Games & Youth group, Yahoo said.
