Xclaim VR 3.1 is out; issues noted

ATI has released Xclaim VR software version 3.1, for use with the Xclaim VR and Xclaim TV.

Bob Schulze claims that the new update fixed a problem he was having with closed captioning. However, the sound input still goes back to "None" when changing channels with the Xclaim Video Player when running Mac OS 8.1. ATI Tech Support told him this is a problem that Apple will have to fix (as it relates to thevarious sound problems precipitated by the changes Apple made in Mac OS 8.1).

Charles Douglas claims that, after installing the update, both Netscape and Explorer would freeze when scrolling (running Mac OS 8.1). Reverting to the previous version of the Xclaim software fixed the problem. (I suspect an additional extension conflict may be involved here.)
