"We planned a robbery on the plane."
With these words, rapper DMX exposed a side of Steve Wozniak that perhaps no one had ever known.
Not even Woz himself.
For the cultural chroniclers of TMZ managed to capture one of the great crossovers of all time when they brought together the Apple co-founder and someone with whom he had just shared a plane ride, rapper DMX.
You'd think that Woz wouldn't associate himself with such a nefarious scheme. DMX does have something of a record with law enforcement.
However Woz, ever genial, played along.
"I'm with you," he said. Then he corrected himself: "I'm behind you."
I wonder what they would rob. Surely not a Best Buy.
Woz merely chuckled when being asked whether he ever considered having a musical career. His appearances on "Dancing With The Stars", though noble, didn't reveal any great musicality.
It's true that the initial greeting between DMX and Woz was a touch awkward. You just never know which particular grip the other person's going to go for these days.
But perhaps they were just pretending not to know each other.
I can imagine at least a technical collaboration between these two great artists.
Rappers are big into headphones these days. So perhaps DMX and Woz can release their own.
They could call them Rapple.
