Update: We have 50 correct entries. The contest is over for today. The next and final contest will be on Wednesday (I'll start it later in the day than I did for today's contest).

Today's winners are Jim Hamilton and Avi Drissman.

The correct answer is 1423. The fat Mac had 512K of memory. The first 32-bit clean Mac was the Mac IIci, where ci = 101. The first 16-gray active matrix PowerBook was the 180. The number shared by an LC, Performa, and Quadra was 630. The sum of 512 101 180 630 = 1423.

We're giving away two more copies of Conflict Catcher 8 today. Additional copies will be given away on Wednesday. To have a chance at winning, you first have to correctly answer the following questions from Mac history:

After the original Mac, Apple next came out with the "fat" Mac. How much K of memory was in the fat Mac?

The model name of the first 32-bit clean Mac ends in two letters. These letters are also roman numerals. What is the number that they represent?

What is the model number of the first PowerBook to have an active matrix 16-levels-of-gray screen?

One three digit number was used to name a Macintosh LC, Macintosh Performa, and Macintosh Quadra. What is the number?

Now add the 4 numbers together. What's the total? I will select the winners at random from the first 50 correct answers. If there are no correct entries, I will pick at random from the entries that are closest to correct. Entering more than once will disqualify all of your entries.

Winners will receive a fully working boxed copy of CC8. I will likely not be able to ship them until late August or early September.
