White Samsung Galaxy S2 coming this August

Online retailer Clove is ready to sell the Samsung Galaxy S2 in pearly white, with an expected date of 15 August. Fingers crossed it's not delayed like the white iPhone 4.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is getting a fresh lick of paint -- online retailer Clove will be selling the 4.3-inch smart phone in white from 15 August.

That's not very long to wait, at least in theory. If recent evidence is anything to go on though, releasing a popular phone in white can take roughly a year longer than expected.

The holding page on Clove's website currently reads, "Sorry, but this product is currently unavailable." We imagine it'll get that fixed fairly sharpish though. Clove says the device will be exactly the same as the black version, except, y'know... white.

So if you like the sound of the sultry S2 but think it currently does a bad job of reflecting any part of the visible spectrum, the white version could be the mobile for you.

The Samaung Galaxy S2 is already doing great guns -- yesterday we reported it had clocked over 5 million sales in just 85 days, and it hasn't even gone on sale in the US yet.

We're rather fond of the Galaxy S2, which packs a 1.2GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a brilliant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. Despite all that hardware, it's just 8.49mm thick and weighs only 115g. Brains and beauty if e'er we saw it, and did we mention it's also got Android 2.3 Gingerbread baked in?
