Where to sign up for Apple's OS X Yosemite beta
Apple just revealed OS X Yosemite, and is letting anyone sign up for a public beta of the new software.
Apple on Monday at its annual World Wide Developer Conference unveiled OS X Yosemite, along with iOS 8 and a laundry list of developer features.
During the announcement of Yosemite, it was mentioned that the public would be able to participate in a public beta of the OS X software "this summer." Developers are gaining access to the new software immediately.
I'm sure Apple wants to work through some of the bigger issues before releasing the new software (albeit in beta form) to regular users.
With that said, only the first one million users who sign up for the beta will gain access once the public beta is rolled out, so act fast. Here's what you'll need to do:
- Visit this link and click on the blue "Sign Up" button.
- You'll be asked to sign in with an Apple ID, and then accept the terms and conditions of the beta program. Read through them if you must, check the box, and click accept.
- You're done -- for now.
Once the beta is released you will receive an email complete with download instructions for you to take part in the beta. Until then, make sure to read up on our WWDC coverage and learn a bit more about what was announced.
