What's the best Nook Tablet case?

For the moment, the Tasume case stands out as the best for the Nook Tablet because it's one of the precious few to convert into a stand.

The other day I did a best cases and covers roundup for the Kindle Fire and a few readers asked for some equal blog time for the Nook Tablet and suggested I make some case recommendations.

Well, Barnes & Noble makes a lot of nice cases for the Nook Tablet and Nook Color (the devices are the same size, though the Tablet is a bit lighter), but like with the Fire, I'm only interested in cases that convert into a stand. After all, the Nook Tablet is a "media" tablet, and Netflix looks really good on it, so why shouldn't you be able to prop it up properly?

Alas, only a precious few cases on Barnes & Noble's site have a stand option and the only one that truly stands out (excuse the pun) is the one I'm using now: the Tasume.

As Barnes & Noble says, think origami, and you get the concept behind the Tasume. It's a thin trifold case that's relatively lightweight and protects the screen when folded shut--and stays shut thanks to an integrated magnet.

You then fold the flaps of the case back to form the stand (the flaps adhere nicely thanks to the magnet) and you can prop up your Nook Tablet or Color horizontally or vertically.

The case comes in carbon or red. The only drawback is that it's pretty pricey at $49.95 and some users have faulted it for not being made of leather. But I look at a lot of cases and consider this to be the best choice if you plan to use the Tablet as a media player--at least until more cases with integrated stand options arrive.

Of course, if you're a Nook Tablet or Color owner, and you have your own case suggestion, feel free to post it in the comments section below.
